Hokkaido Trip 2007
Part 1
August 3rd (Fri.)
It was hot during night and I could not sleep well. I got up at 6 o'clock as usual and prepared for the trip to Hokkaido. My wife and I left our home before 8 o'clock. We took a rest at the airport lounge of Haneda. In the morning, we can eat bread and soft drink there.
The airplane bound for Wakkanai left at 9:45 o'clock. It was very crowded and there were about 200 people in an airplane. We arrived at Wakkanai airport and took a limousine bus to the ferry boat terminal. I ate an salmon roe-don in front of the ferry boat terminal. We had a lot of time before the ferry boat bound for Kafuka in Rebun Island would leave here, so we took a taxi and went to Noshappu cape. There were few people.
At 3:10 pm o'clock we left for the Rebun Island. We took the second class ticket. The room was neat and we could have enough space to sleep. It took about 2 hours to reach the Rebun Island.
The Sukoton inn's person picked us up at the ferry terminal and took us to the inn by way of Todo Island scenic point. The landscape of the view point located at the top of the hill was very beautiful and we could see the Sukoton cape and Todo Island.
We arrived at the Sukoton inn which is located near the Sukoton cape. It was a nice location and our room was in front of the sea. There were two windows and we could see the sea in front.
We took a bath near the sea and we could see the sea from the bath room. There was a traveler in the bath and he came from Himeji and he used to live in Chiba.
We had dinner and enjoyed it. There were half crab, salmon roe, sea urchin, fresh shrimps and Sashimi and so on. They tasted very good, because they were very fresh As we were tired, we went to bed earlier than usual.
