Travel to Miyakojima Island

PART 1

February 19 (Thurs.)

My wife and I got up at 4 o’clock in the morning and ate breakfast, and then left our home for Haneda airport at 5 o’clock. As there were many people who took an Aqua-Line bus leaving at 5:33 a.m., we were surprised. We arrived at Haneda airport at 6 o’clock and took a rest at a card member’s room.

We took a direct flight to Miyako Island and arrived after 10 o’clock. From the airplane, I could see a very beautiful sea whose color was green and dark blue.

It was fine and warm and the temperature stood about 24 degree. I thought half sleeve shirt was better than long sleeve thick shirt. We rent a car and then drove to northern part of Miyako Island.

It was easy to drive from the airport to Nishi Hennazaki which gave us very beautiful scenery. It looked like a nice coral reel. As I thought that the wind there was usually very strong, there were three wind electric power generators.

We reached the Ikema-Bridge which was long and linked between Miyako-Island and Ikema-Island. There was very beautiful coral sea and we were very impressed.

After that, we went to a Greek restaurant where we could see the sea in front of the restaurant. After that, we took an undersea glass boat. We were very surprised to see the most beautiful coral reel that I had ever seen.

I saw Great Barrier Reef, Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Main Island, Saipan Island and so on. There were many different kinds of corals, such as white and dark blue ones and different kinds of shapes. The corals here were not broken at all. We were very impressed to see them.

We drove to south east part of island and finally reached to Higashi-Hennazaki.

There were many rocks in the sea and the Higashi-Hennasaki is the flat place above the cliff. We could have a great view from the top of a light house.

I set a car-navigation and began to drive to the Miyako Tokyu-Resort Hotel. It took about thirty minutes. It was easy to access, because the hotel was tall and large. We were introduced to a room on the 9th floor and we opened a curtain and could see a green and blue colored coral sea in front of the room. We walked along the white beach named Marihama Beach which was located near the Kuruma-Island Bridge. We had a dinner ticket which was included in our tour tickets. We selected Japanese restaurant located in front of a pond. This hotel had a large garden, such as beach, pool, play yard, restaurants, mini golf courses, tennis court, basket court and an orchard garden. After dinner, we took a walk in the garden. The sunset time was about 7 o’clock more than one hour late.
