February 8th (Sun.)

I got up earlier than usual before sunrise.
I saw a very beautiful sunrise and prepared for presentation materials in the room　and wrote some mails to contributors of the journal as an editor of technical journal　in the morning. After the work, my wife and I went out to a restaurant near the hoteland ate breakfast with reasonable price. After walking along the seashore,

I continued on working some matters remained for two hours at a hotel room and left the hotel. We dropped in a grocery store in Kamogawa city and bought two bottles of wines and some food for lunch.

On the way to home, we took a rest near the dam and ate lunch outside near the dam.
It was warm and was not cold. We enjoyed eating there. After returning home, we went to Toyota dealer and picked up my new car which we ordered on January 4th.

As I had driven the previous car for ten years, we decided to buy a new car. As a new car is equipped ETC, we made an ETC card.

There is not an engine key to turn in and all we have to do is push a
bottom. A new car is much more quiet than the previous car.
We just picked it up and returned directly without dropping in any place except a gasoline station.

February 7th (Sat.)

My wife and I went to Kamogawa where we have not visited since last
November.
The weather was very fine and we checked in the hotel and then I took a walk along the seashore. I was relaxed there.
My wife and I went shopping near the hotel to buy a bottle of whisky and sashimi and then took a large bath on the second floor of the hotel. A large bath made me relaxed and we had a dinner at the restaurant.
After dinner, we had a drink with sashimi which we bought at a grocery
store.As I felt sleepy, I went to bed before 9 o’clock much earlier than usual.

February 5th (Thurs.)

I went to Tokyo Institute of Technology to discuss the research matter
which I had been doing since several years ago.
My colleague and I went there by way of Aqua-line which is very convenient for us,because we could find some vacant seats and also save our time.
We discussed for two hours and then dropped in another laboratory
and talked with another member for two more hours.

February 1st (Sun.)

It was a fine and a cold day. My wife and I went to Tokyo to attend the
funeral ceremony for my friend who was working for our company. There were many people who attended it. As the room was small, we were standing outside for one hour. It was a very cold and a sad day. He died of cancer and he might not know his decease.
After the ceremony, we dropped in a restaurant to eat lunch near the
Shinagawa station and then went to a book store.

January 30th (Fri)

It was cloudy and very cold. I was informed of my friend’s death who was hospitalized more than one month ago.
He graduated from the same laboratory of the university one year earlier than I. After graduation, we have worked for the same company. I did not know about his serious situation and heard his sudden death.

January 27th (Tue.)

I went to Kanazawa University and had the oral presentation of Dr
dissertation given by my laboratory student. He passed it. After that, some of the attendants joined in the drinking party for him in down town Kanazawa and we enjoyed very much. It took three years to finish writing his Dr. dissertation..

January 14^th (Wed.)

After we finished our experiment, we went to an Italian restaurant in Anegasaki.There were four people who went to the restaurant and we drank a glass of beer and three bottles of wine. We enjoyed drinking and we felt a little drunken.

January 13^th (Tues.)

My students came to our research center to do the experiment for four days and they got a lot of experimental results.

January 7^th (Wed.)

I went to Kanazawa University to have an oral examination for researchers who wanted to enter Dr. course students of Kanazawa University. They passed the entrance examination and would belong to my research laboratory. I felt good, because they will join in our laboratory. I also had a discussion of their research results with my students of master course and undergraduate.

January 4^th (Sun.)

Today was the last day of the New Years holiday and we went to a daily store in Kisaradu and then we had a time to take a walk. We found the Toyota Dealer near the daily store. We thought that we just dropped in and saw some cars outside the car dealer. When we were looking some of cars, a salesman approached us and asked us what kind of cars you were interested in. We just saw Allion which we saw at Toyota Tokyo Show Room and asked how much it would cost. We talked about one hour and decided to buy it. Later we were surprised to buy it, because we thought we were just looking.

I watched the Hakone Marathon and Toyo University won the marathon race. We left for Tomiura to see the sea. Tomiura is located in the southern part of Chiba and it was warm. We walked in a park and dropped in the Daiwa Royal Hotel and took a rest at the restaurant. As we took our seats near the window, we felt hot rather than warm.

January 2^nd(Fri.)

It was a cold and windy day and we went shopping to the Soga Shopping center which gave us discount prices. So we bought sweater, muffler and shoes and we got 30% cash back.

January 1st (Thurs.)

I got up early in the morning as usual.As most of shopping center were closed, I stayed at my home in the morning.In the afternoon my wife and I went to Germany Village and walked in a village and then bought a fortune bag which included a bottle of wine, sausage, cookie, candy and so on.
