February 22nd (Thurs.)

We left home for the Haneda airport early in the morning. We took 5:33 bus and took 6:30 flight bound for the Naha airport.
As we had to get up earlier than usual, we could not sleep well, so we took a nap in an airplane. It took about three hour from the Haneda airport to the Naha airport.
The weather was getting worse and when we arrived at the Naha airport, it was raining. We could find rent-a-car shuttle bus at the Naha airport and it took us a rent-car office near the airport.
We rent a Toyota corolla with a navigation system. I didn't use it, so I was taught how to use it by a rent-a car person. It seemed to be very convenient when I visited any places as a stranger.
As the navigation system directed me, it was very easy to access the Okinawa express highway and droved on the highway. We left early morning and felt hungry, so we ate Okinawa soba at a service area.

We got out the Kyoda exit and dropped in Maxvalue Supper Market in Nago city and then directly went to the Hedo cape which is the northern part of the Okinawa Island.

Unfortunately it was raining and strong wind. We had Gohya chample and Okinawa soba. It seemed to be very dark not only outside, but also inside. It was something light problem. All the vending machines which were turned off were not sed. As the weather was bad, we decided to go to the hotel "Yanbaru Hotel and Farm".
When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel clerk came out and talked to us. This afternoon the power supply was cut off and we had a trouble, so we felt sorry that you would have some inconvenience. As they were trying to contact with the Okinawa Denryoku, but unfortunately we could have any answer.

We were introduced by the hotel clerk to our room. We could not use any electricity. As I felt tired, I took a nap and felt much better and relaxed. The room was very comfortable and very wide. It had A living room and two bed room. The hotel was surrounded by Yanbaru forest and there were many birds singing and I felt relaxed. But the weather was very bad. We drove a car and went to the park nearby. After returning the hotel, the power supply was still not recovered.

After 5 p.m., one of the hotel clerks knocked on the door and said “We are very sorry, but we need to say that we cannot serve you dinner, bath and electricity today, because the power supply problem. We made a reservation of JAL Okuma Resort Hotel for you without any different payment. Please move from here to JAL Okuma Resort Hotel”. We needed to follow their proposal. We drove there and we could reach in half an hour by way of Route 2 which is curvy road, but we were so lucky that we could arrive there safely because before the sun set time.
We went to the hotel front of JAL Okuma Resort which was stayed two years ago We checked in and were introduced to our room by a lady and found that the room was very large and nice.

The lady said this room was just renewal. The hotel manager of Yanbaru Farm Hotel asked JAL Okuma Resort to serve us kindly.
The room which was on the third floor had living room and two beds and there was a large Veranda This room size was almost same size as the Yanbaru Hotel, but the bath room and rest room were larger.

I made a reservation of dinner and then we had dinner at one of the restaurants. We felt very long day, but it was settled. We were talking with drinking Okinawa shochu Awamri with eating dry fruits in a veranda. It was very comfortable outside.
